Maple Leaf Daycare was the perfect place for my daughter since the time she was 6 months old until almost 3 years old.  Janet is so kind, intuitive, experienced and clearly loves the children for whom she is caring.  Janet was the first person to give continuous care to my daughter at 6 months other than myself after I finished maternity leave.  Within just a couple of days, it was clear that my daughter felt loved and cared for.  From the very beginning, she would light up with a smile when we arrived and approached Janet’s house.  My daughter had various food allergies and skin eczema and Janet was very attentive and careful to manage both of these things.  As my daughter got older, she would start telling us about all the new things she was doing at Janet’s house.  Once she was the oldest, she was so proud to have learned so many things like draw and color and get ready for preschool.  I can’t recommend Janet enough.  If you are looking for a warm and nurturing environment with a provider who truly cares about the children, engages them in a loving and positive way, you have come to the right place.

Janet provided a caring and enriching environment for our son from ages 5 months to 2.5 years. He thrived under her care, meeting and exceeding key milestones including for language and social development, recognizing numbers and letters, and creativity and confidence. Janet’s home is exceptionally accommodating to the children, providing a clean, safe, and well-appointed area for learning and play. In addition, Janet’s communication with parents is fantastic–she regularly provides key updates on their development and on any changes to their feeding habits, interests, mood, etc. She fosters a sense of community and friendship among the children and helps them learn empathy and caring for one another, which we note helped our son adjust smoothly when his baby sister arrived. Janet is not only knowledgeable about early childhood development, but she genuinely cares for the children–she even helped us by keeping our son overnight when I was recovering from surgery, and he returned home raving about the fun time he had. Highly recommend her daycare–we miss her!

I cannot recommend Janet enough; We were so fortunate to have found such a great fit. Janet is experienced, professional, kind, caring, and responsive via text. We live in DC and my wife works as a teacher near Maple Leaf Daycare, so timing wasn’t ideal, but Janet went above and beyond to accommodate our unusual schedule. She also cooked food on occasion to try out with our baby when she was ready! We are so sad to leave, but know the next baby will be in great hands. Thank you Janet!

I wholeheartedly recommend this family daycare to any parent seeking a nurturing and enriching environment for their little ones. My son Ethan went to this daycare from 1.5 to 3 years old and his time has been filled with joy, growth, and wonderful memories. Janet (the teacher) shows professionalism, dedication, warmth, and genuine care that put both myself and my kid at ease. My son learns to speak English, count numbers, recognize letters, sing songs and follow rules from this daycare and has lots of fun with other kids. Every day, he comes home bubbling with excitement and eager to share the new things he learned. My son has developed his social skills, communication abilities, and confidence over time. 

There is lots of space inside the daycare, and there is a nice playground outside. Hygiene and safety are well taken care of, and I’ve always felt confident leaving my child in her house. The communication between Janet and parents is also outstanding. Daily updates and regular pictures keep me informed about my son’s daily activities and progress. I am immensely grateful for the great care Janet has provided.

Janet is wonderful! Our baby started going there when he was just 4 MO. We were new to the town. Janet provided a second home for him. We as working parents couldn’t have ask for anything more from a daycare. She is very well trained, kind, thoughtful with high, infectious positive energy! And her house is beautiful, kids playroom is large, well equipped and developmentally supportive. The best part about this daycare is that she caters to the particular needs of each child. Her intuition, experience and trainings are very advanced. Honestly, I can go on for 5 more pages about her! Absolutely recommend her given she has a spot for your baby! It is will great pleasure that I write a recommendation for Mrs. Janet Maples’ daycare, Maple Leaf
Daycare located in Mclean, Virginia, not far from Arlington and Tysons Corner.
My son, Miles Cook began in her daycare when he was three months old in April 2019; and will continue
there through the end of August 2020. I would have kept him in the daycare longer, however, my family
is in the process of moving to Ethiopia.
My husband and I are big fans of in-home-daycares because the environment is so much more intimate
and personal compared to large, corporate daycare centers – much like a family. We have two older
daughters (now in elementary school) who also attended in-home-daycares, so we were keen to repeat
the experience. Our daughters’ former daycare was at maximum capacity when I needed to go back to
work, so I began researching other in-home-daycares that had availability – and I came across Maple
Leaf Daycare.
I visited Maple Leaf when I was still pregnant in 2018 and was pleased with what a nice home Janet
kept, how well the children were cared for, and what a lovely, safe backyard the children had access to
play in with a large swing set and toys. I could see how well she and the children go along and so we
selected her daycare, and I haven’t regretted it a single day since!
Janet made going back to work and being away from my son less stressful because I knew that he was
with his daycare family. He always comes home happy, well-fed, well-rested and clean. Her four
beautiful daughters love my son and treat him like their own little brother, and he adores being with
them too, just like his sisters. Janet has been a godsend to our family – even caring for our three
children occasionally on weekends, when we needed extra help. I traveled overseas often for work and
she took the sting out of it by frequently sending me pictures and videos of Miles.

Janet is a wonderful, nurturing, reliable daycare provider, and I cannot praise her high enough.
We had both our children, who are two years apart and have quite different personalities, with Janet’s Maple Leaf Daycare. Both of the kids had a wonderful time there, and they both absolutely love Janet.
Janet creates an environment that is both educational and fun. We could see our children develop (e.g. picking up new words and phrases, learning to pick up after themselves, and even eat better food!) even as they had a great time. The kids were always eager to get to Janet’s and reluctant to leave.

This is in regards to Janet Maples and her lovely in-home daycare. Janet has cared for my 4- year-old son full-time since 2017 on the days he wasn’t in pre-school, and she just recently started watching my 7-month-old daughter on a need-by-need basis. I trust her wholeheartedly with my children. What impresses me the most about Janet is her ability to make each child she cares for feel special, regardless of age. She has boundless energy and always has new activities and projects for the kids to work on to keep them stimulated, and for every age! She will help with potty training and aid in positive behavioral reinforcement. Her home is safe, clean and well-maintained, with a back room specifically for children and play. She also has a lovely backyard during the warmer months for outdoor play. Janet is continuous in taking evening classes to keep her safety certifications current and her child development education up-to-date. She is always educating me on the latest requirements for sleep safety, nutrition and developmental milestones. Not only is she excellent with children, she is very responsive and communicative with the parents. She will keep you informed daily on your child’s progress and check in with you throughout the day if you need reassurance of your child’s emotional well-being during the first few weeks of transition into her care. As of mother of 4, she knows the worries we have leaving our children in the hands of others. I highly recommend Janet and her daycare to any family looking for a trustworthy, honest and reliable caregiver. I feel very fortunate to have found her!

I rarely write reviews but I feel it’s important to share feedback on something as important as childcare, and I hope that this helps a fellow parent make the best decision for their family. Searching for the right place to entrust the care of your child is a daunting task. After much research and many tours, I brought my son, Navid, to Janet’s home daycare because of a gut feeling that it just felt like the right place. The space is huge, spotless, bright and happy feeling. The backyard has a playground that is well maintained and safe for the kids. Janet is amazing and took care of my son like he was her own. I feel that she truly cares about the well-being and happiness of each child. The daily photos and videos she sent made my day, every day! I’ve always felt peace of mind leaving my son there, and that is priceless when looking for the right childcare.
